We respect the privacy of your information and are committed to protecting your privacy.  This Privacy Policy will identify the information we collect about you and the information we collect about your use of the services and the Mrs. Riley Website.  This Privacy Policy also explains Emergent Behavior’s online information practices.

The Information We Collect and the Way We Use Information

To become a Registered User or a Paid Subscriber of the Website, you will be required to submit a valid email address and to create a password. We may also ask you for other personal information, including, but not limited to, the name of your employer, your job title, and demographic information.

We may communicate with you through your email address to provide administrative notices regarding your Website account.  We may also communicate with you through your email address to provide you with newsletters and special offers and to notify you of updates, changes and improvements to the Mrs. Riley Website and services, unless you opt-out of receiving these communications.

We may automatically gather general statistical information about the Website when you use certain services on the Mrs. Riley Website or when you visit cookie-enabled web pages.  For example, we may log your IP address, pages viewed, browser type, etc.  In doing so, we do not reference you by individual name or email address.  We use this data in the aggregate to determine how often visitors use parts of the Website so we can improve the Website and customize the Website’s content, layout and services.  We may provide this statistical information to third parties, but when we do so we will not provide personal information without your permission.

We may use any feedback you provide to us for any purpose.  We will not include your personal information with such feedback without your prior consent.

Emergent Behavior may also use “cookie” files to store and sometimes track information about you and to better serve your needs by creating a customized website that fits your needs.  Some features of the Website may be available only through the use of a cookie. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive.  Generally, we use cookies to remind us who you are and enable us to access your account information so you do not have to re-enter it; gather statistical information about usage by Unregistered Users, Registered Users and Paid Subscribers, research visiting patterns, and help target advertisements based on user interest; and track progress and participation in promotions.  In some instances, Emergent Behavior’s advertisers appearing at the Website may use their own cookies.  Preference and options configurations in your browser determine if and how a cookie will be accepted.  You can change those configurations on your computer if you desire.  By changing your preferences, you can accept all cookies, you can be notified when a cookie is set, or you can reject all cookies.  If you do so and cookies are disabled, you may be required to re-enter your information more often and certain features of the Website may be unavailable.

We do not sell, rent, or in any other way use personal information collected during your use of the Website without your permission.  However, we will share your personal information to a third party if we believe it is necessary to investigate or stop illegal activities or if we are required to respond to court orders, subpoenas or other legal process.

Security

We employ reasonable and current security methods to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure correct use of information.  All user account pages are protected with Secure Socket Layer (“SSL”) encryption.  Account information of Registered Users and Paid Subscribers are password protected.  We recommend that you do not share your password with any other person.  Emergent Behavior’s personnel will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email.  Remember to sign out of your account and close your browser window when you have finished your session.  This is to help ensure that others cannot access your personal information if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place where others may have access to it.

Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online, for example, in public forums, through email or in other public areas, that information can be collected and used by others.  You can choose a private or public setting for any User Content (as defined in the Terms and Conditions) you upload to the Website.  These settings will permit you to choose whether others can access the User Content you upload.  No data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be perfectly secured.  As a result, while we try to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.

How You Can Update, Correct or Delete Your Information

You can access the information that we collect online and maintain through normal updating methods.  To update, correct or delete this information, you can contact [email protected].  Your account can be deleted or deactivated, but doing so will result in your not being able to access certain services.
